I thought India will not send anyone��, I'm surprised!! But it's also true in sports politics should be avoided but China did wrong with our Arunachal Pradesh students by giving them staple pasport. I hope in future whenever anyone from Tibet or Xinjiang comes to India, We would also give them staple pasport. If China not recognising our states we will also not recognise Chinese states.

I watched the entire ceremony from Hongkong, I simply couldn't stop with all the awesome fireworks, music, dance n airspace adventures! I was especially impressed by the little known countries who never seem to appear in the world stage. This is what equality, peace n harmony is about! It’s interesting even for a Chinese person to visit Xiongan. I’ve heard many people in China ridicule the plan of Xi. I don’t think we have all the info and data to understand why he made the decision to build Xiongan. It’s hard to predict the future. Back in 2002, people were riding bikes on the 4th ring road and people in Beijing were saying that was a waste and corrupt project. Where are those people now?

In the West we always play catchup. We wait until we have utter chaos in cities and then try to fix it. I think some countries like China are trying to develop before the chaos. And of course that means things will be built out before people and industries are brought in. Not having masses of people and industry there first and then try to adapt needed infrastructure around them.WE are just shocked by that because we aren't used to governments that plan for future needs or problems. And not just try to run around like a "chicken with it's head cut off" trying to fix the problems.

Like many planned cities, Xionag'an will be one that in 20 years time people will remember the now busy roads that were still being built in 2023, building previously unoccupied now brimming etc. Things built in the middle of nowhere now 20 years later surrounded by a shopping mall etc. It always happens when cities and governments plan for the future. Glad you were there to witness its construction, and taking us with you.

I have a feeling that when you look back 5 years from now, this video will be incredible. How successful or busy Xiongan will be who can tell, but if the Beijing government is going to split up and move here, it's won't be a "ghost city" as Western schadenfreude prays it would be. It's not often you build and design a modern techno city from the ground up, anywhere in the world.

I think Chinese govt put infrastructure in place before people moving into the area, whilst some countries would wait till the population reaches a certain point to justify the spending on infrastructure.

@bunnyhop9465 The philosophy behind governance is very different indeed. One is more centrally-organized and another is more market-driven. When it comes to long term planning, market is obviously not able to plan longer than 5-10years for most sectors. Not to mention a 30-yr plan. There is no panacea for reality. The Chinese government is pragmatic and flexible.
